Cybernetwork – Predators or Benefactors

It came from somewhere, from the bygones and it is reeling the world into the unknown beyond, where the future awaits! Do we have any inkling about what lies ahead? ‘NO’, is the absolute and on the target answer, BUT we do have dreams, dreams for a BRIGHT FUTURE.

Children, who are our future, for whom we are paving the way.
We love to see them safe and not going astray.
Tech savvy they are, trending all the way.
Evolving technologically, day by day!
Inching closer to being the cyber geniuses of the futuristic world.
We see these Tech Geniuses’ magical know-hows being unfurled.
On hearing the word ‘cyber’, it literally gives us jitters.
The chirpy, bubbly children becoming glued onto FB, Insta and Twitter.
Flashy though it looks, with promises of all kinds.
Creating illusions and fantasies in young minds.
Hark! Tread on the net with care or else the consequences will be a dire scare.
Advice we give. Guidelines of dos & don’ts we prepare.
These, with parents and children we share.
Orientation on e-safety is conducted everywhere.
E-SAFETY – Engage Safely Amidst Fast Evolving Technological Yearning.
Make the internet a boon and use it wisely for purposeful learning.
Cast the net and a haul we get.
A bunch of net savvies, you bet!
A click here and a click there, that’s where the danger lies.
A check here and a check there, that’s where the harness fortifies.

Whatever said and done, ACCEPT we must, to stay within the limits so as not to go overboard. All aspects have their Pros & Cons, Dos & Don’ts, Yes & Nos. This is where the role of the responsible adults, features. We, who are of the Pre-Google age, how capable are we of advising the current generation of the Post-Google age? Learn if we must, for these are our children, who are on the fast forward move to the future. Born into the netiquette world, take heed and never forget your etiquette. Are we or are we not there yet, to support, guide and keep our children safe from the threat? The tug-of-war goes on. Our pull to keep our children in the present, versus the pull of technology luring children into the unknown future. The question still lingers on, Cybernetwork, is it a Predator or Benefactor? It is all in our hands to make the best use of it without having it get the better of us. After all it is the ‘human brain versus the mechanical brain’. The humans, the superior beings who founded and programmed the machines; are they being made servants by these master machines! Wake up! It’s never too late! Take the bait with caution. Let it be the survival of the fittest and the revival of the greatest!
